TOYOTA SUPPORTS MUSIC EDUCATION.
In 2015, Toyota established a philanthropic partnership program with VH1 Save The Music Foundation, a non-profit committed to ensuring that music instruction is a core component to a complete education and restoring music education programs nationwide. The partnership is a part of Toyota’s larger philanthropic initiative, Toyota Giving.
Each year of the program has consisted of a unique experience on site at popular music festivals around the country designed to raise awareness about the importance of music education and inspire musicians and festival fans to share their answer to the fundamental question, “what does music mean to you?”
This year we’ve teamed up with Los Angeles-based artist ThankYouX to create an art piece that will be used as a backdrop for a fun 3D photo booth. Festival attendees will be encouraged to take a photo and share it on Instagram with the hashtag #ToyotaGiving along with their message of what music means to them. The program will have a presence at Stagecoach Festival, Country 500, Firefly, Lollapalooza, Ruido Fest, Life Is Beautiful, Los Dells Festival, and Voodoo Music + Arts Experience.
Over the past three years $110,000 has been granted supporting music programs at schools in New Orleans, Chicago and Las Vegas. In 2018, Toyota will award a $50,000 Music Technology grant to support a school in the Philadelphia School District as well as a $7,500 music grant to the Miami-Dade School District.
