#ToyotaGiving partnership with VH1 Save the Music kicks off at Lollapalooza

Toyota will be on the ground in Grant Park for Lollapalooza in Chicago this year, at the Toyota Music tent and the Downside Up tent. From July 31 to August 2, we’ll be partnering with VH1 Save the Music to help ensure that music instruction remains a vital component of a complete education—and we’re doing it with the help of everyday music fans.

We’ll be encouraging music fans at Lollapalooza to interact with their social networks, generating conversation about the importance of music through interaction with our glowing, life-size Whispering Willow tree. Fans will write what music means to them on a leaf, which they’ll then hang on the psychedelic arbor and post pictures of their response to their social media accounts with the hashtag #ToyotaGiving. For every social post, we’ll donate $1 to VH1 Save the Music. By the end of the festival, the tree will be blooming with music’s collective importance, and we’ll be closer to our goal of restoring or implementing a musical instrument program for an entire school.
